CLERK TO THE PARISH COUNCIL

The Council seeks to appoint a new Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO)following the retirement of the current Parish Clerk, after 36 years, on the 22 April 2015. The appointment is for 20 hours per calendar month paid on the national salary scale recommended by NALC/SLCC and commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will be required to produce formal agenda and minutes for the monthly meeting, handle correspondence and planning applications, advise the Council and carry out tasks as determined by the Council. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month. In addition, as RFO, the Clerk will be responsible for all aspects of financial administration, including banking, maintaining the Council’s accounts and presenting these for the annual audit, and preparing the Council’s annual budget.

The Clerk works from home and should be computer literate. An allowance is given for fixed expenses.

The appointment will commence from 1 April 2015 to allow a hand over period.
