The History group was formed in October, 1983 with the following aims:
1)To research, collate and preserve information relating to the history of the village and its people;
2)To publish a book or books on Pilton history;
3)To generate interest in and help preserve Pilton’s history.
The group has collected an archive of material relating to the village which is kept in the Village Hall. This archive is slowly becoming an online resource that will be fully searchable by using the search-boxes in the top right hand of any page, the only exception is the search-box on the News Item page which only searches the news items posted. Any word is a suitable term for search but single words will always prove more effective than strings because of the way that documents and photographs are catalogued and tagged. Higher resolution images can be made available if required, those included on this site are low resolution to aid performance but should be legible non-the-less. Should you find yourself struggling just use the Contact Us form from the menu bar, describe your problem and someone will get back to you shortly.
